STEP ONE
STEP TWO
One rose bud done...except for a tad more Alizarin Crimson in the center area...
Not able to paint last week, so no real progress.
Thinking I will add an under layer of a lace edged cloth to break the linen table covering and add a bit more interest...
And...dare I say...add to the difficulty!
Not being pleased with the open rose at the left, I painted over it, and it still remains untouched for over a week now.
But, this is typical that when you complete one aspect, it gives a whole new perception to the rest of the canvas. So, it had to be done....

As I progress through this, what appears is going to be a long and arduous jouney,
I'll post photos in stages, so you can see the transition.

I am re-paintng the background, which is not quite complete, but is very close to what I had in mind and will add to the pitcher, as well.
Funny how you "see" it differently from the first attempt!

When I am done, I will post Elizabeths' photograph of her finished piece as well!
